toot, toot, toot went my horn

I was astonished and tickled pink to be included in one of my favorite magazine's "Top Four Design Forces" feature.... Thank you, House Beautiful!

Like fellow "accessorator" Iris Apfel says, put everything on and then add one more thing!

I saw this yesterday- and You're the Top-"Your words poetic are not pathetic. - You're a Bendel bonnet,
You're Whistler's mama!
You're Lady Astor,
You're broccoli!
ou're the steppes of Russia,
You're the pants, on a Roxy usher
or something like that! G

OK, "tickled pink" I get--praise & attention is always nice, especially coming from a person (or a magazine) you respect--but "astonished" that HB named you as a Voice of Authority in blogland? Come on, the only thing that's even mildly astonishing is that it took them so long to publicly acknowledge what we've been saying all along. Congratulations!

Magnaverde is so right, and on a whole what I discover here and on other favourite blogs is far beyond what I see and especially read in what is left of the mags. I feel privileged to be part of the community of bloggers with your expertise, integrity and generosity- that is Fact- You're the Louvre Museum! G

Magnaverde, as my favorite celluloid politician Francis Urquhart loved to say, "You may think that, but I couldn't possibly comment." EEE

Emily Evans Eerdmans: EEEEEEEEay! So glad you have been recognized for what we, your loyal readers, know: intelligence never looked so good! Way to go, and what a lovely triumph after your Trompe Foolery when you felt a bit battered. I think that's one of the things that sets you apart. You accept you got something wrong with grace and continue to dig deeper with insatiable curiosity and good humor.

BRAVO INDEED!!

And Iris Apfel...Lordy! I went to the exhibit at the Met two years ago. flew from Ca. to NYC just to see it. Spent 8 hours for two days. Actually met her!

she is BEYOND!!! (is this where I got in trouble about my caps)? So sorry..... I can't see this little print.....(Just you wait...anonymous #1!!!)

Iris bought a necklace in the middle of an Indian wedding ....that was on a horse! And she wears it! And it was in the exhibit at the MET.......which is now....or will be shortly at the Peabody Essex. In Salem.....(or nearby)

the real treasure after seeing that is going to "Beauport"!!

Lordy! I went. And it is a "house museum" where all the furniture is there...it looks like the family will be home soon.

Well these poor docents (volunteers from the new england whatchacllit save it society) kept coming back to find me. So I decided the right thing to do!

I went through....with the docent....kept up.....peeking madly everywhere at everything......and then bought another ticket!

Three times......I have bought 4 tickets a day! And I still could do that again.....10 times more.

this is the best museum I have ever seen in the decorative arts........the dining room......I was pretty sure I would faint! the windows go into the floor.......and there is the view of the water. And the most heavenly color.......and the long skinny table facing the view. If you get it......it is beyond!

This guy (Henry Davis Sleeper) invented the skylight! and how he used it! Amazing!
